How to get rid of pimples fast: proven methods for clear skin.

We all know sometimes even the little things can throw us off our game. Especially so, when we have that important date we want to look our best for, but we wake up that morning with a pesky pimple!

For us women our appearance is important and how we feel about our appearance has a direct link to our level of confidence. Studies by the British Association of Dermatologists (BAD) found that having a skin condition can really impact on your confidence.

At HerParade our mission is to inspire you to be confident and feel great - no matter what life throws your way. So we have teamed up with Emma from @emma.rhodes.beauty to share with you some very practical insider tips on what you can do to combat that pesky pimple and restore your confidence.

Next we asked Emma a series of questions, with her responses written below:

Before we begin to tell our readers your amazing insider tips, can you say a little bit about yourself and your passion?

“Sure and thanks for having me on the blog. I’m a teacher by trade and a beauty queen by night”, she said. “I’m obsessed with all things skin care, and have tested and tried many skin care products, as you can see on my Instagram page.”

Can you relate to having a random pimple appear when you least want it?

“I am fortunate to have not had any serious acne problems in the past. But in my experience, I will ALWAYS have something break out - on my face - right before an event - OR god forbid on THE DAY that I want to look my best – I can totally relate.”

What are some ‘do’s and don’ts’ that you can share with our readers, to not let that pesky pimple appear to ruin your day?

The most important rule - No picking or squeezing the pimple!

“First and foremost DO NOT squeeze or pick. You, my darling girl know this, so please don’t do it! Next, ICE it. It will calm down any inflammation and redness. A little ice wrapped in some cotton applied to your skin, on the hour will help.”

Find some aspirin- yes- you heard right!

“Next make a paste out of aspirin. It has Salicylic acid in it, which is a tip top acne fighter. It will help remove any excess oil, dead skin, unclog and dry out any angry pores too. While also reducing any redness and swelling. To make the paste crush the aspirin between 2 spoons and pop a few drops of water in and apply to the pimple.”

Products that can help

“Lastly do use some acid to dry it out. I like to use the Alpha-H - Liquid Gold - 100ml.

This Australian company shines brightly in my daily beauty routines. As the Australian online beauty store Adore boast:  When the skincare experts at Alpha-H developed their now-iconic Liquid Gold, they knew they were on to a winner with this fast-acting, high-performance facial treatment” and I could not agree more. This power player is absolute GOLD. The changes it has made for my skin are notable. For a full run down head to my Instagram handle for a full review @emma.rhodes.beauty. But beware! - Just because Gylcolic is known to dry out acne don’t think that ‘more is more’. You don’t want to dry out the area too much. As when you apply makeup, the dry skin makes it stand out more. Just use a Q-tip to apply to the affected area.”

“A Blemish control serum, like Derma E Acne Blemish Control Treatment Serum, 60 ml will do the job too.”

What if you can’t find these products?

“If you can’t get your hands on any of these particular products do look for any products with Salicylic acid in it. It’s a well-known acne ingredient that is handy in preventing and or treating pimples. Australian brand E.l.f. Cosmetics Acne Fighting Foundation is a great budget pick that has Salicylic Acid in the foundations. You can also try their e.l.f. Blemish Control Face Primer WINNING.”

Final reminder

“So finally lovelies remember apart from all of the above, stick to your normal routines. Doing too much extra will just irritate it more.”

“And did I mention NO PICKING or SQUEZZING YOU WILL MAKE IT WORSE.”
